ABBA’s skilled trades initiative provides structured, OSHA-aligned training in construction, as well as training programs that include but are not limited to electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and green energy technologies. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning and safety certifications, giving participants a clear pathway to union apprenticeships and long-term employment. The program targets unemployed adults, youth seeking alternative education, and returning citizens. It plays a vital role in workforce development by connecting trainees with contractors, local unions, and municipal building projects, empowering participants to earn sustainable wages and build generational wealth. Contractor educational programs will focus on insurance requirements, bonding capabilities, payroll services, financial capacity, and other programs that will enable local contracting firms to participate in the downtown revitalization.
